Hard rock fans descended upon Toronto over the weekend for the Heavy T.O. Festival, and they now have a reason now to come back in September.
Both Rob Zombie and Anthrax‘s Frank Bello are among the rockers that will be featured during the Toronto International Film Festival next month. As previously reported, Zombie will debut his ‘The Lords of Salem‘ film at the event and is expected to attend, while Anthrax’s Frank Bello makes his feature film debut in the new film ‘Greetings from Tim Buckley,’ which will screen during the festival.
Zombie wrote and directed ‘The Lords of Salem,’ and he stated about the film, “There were twenty people that everyone knows about, obviously all innocent, executed as witches in Salem. The basic premise of the film is that there was a small coven, actual witches, who were put to death secretly, and vowed one day to return to wreak havoc on Salem’s descendants.”
The film stars Patricia Quinn, Maria Conchita Alonza, Clint Howard, Dee Wallace, and Billy Drago, and the director calls it “probably the bleakest of all my films.”
Bello, who took on a supporting role in ‘Greetings From Tim Buckley,’ stated of his filmmaking experience, “I had a seven-day shooting schedule in New York, and, although I don’t speak a word of French, I had to sing a song completely in French. I love acting, and I want to do more of it, but Anthrax is and will always be my first priority.”
The Toronto International Film Festival runs Sept. 3-16.
